Question:

We have a 2 year old home. The Master Bedroom's Ensuite has a Soaker Tub, Stand-up shower a toilet and a sink.
This is my Wife's Bathroom. Recently I have noticed a weird smell as I walked past it, upon further investigation it seems to be coming form the Tub? Could this be? What could be the cause? The easiest way to discribe the smell would be Cat Pee, but we don't have any pets. I asked my wife how often she is using the tub and she said not very often. She doesn't seem to be offended by the smell, but I am. By the way my wife doesn't smell like this weird odour. Maybe you could tell me if this a major or minor issue and how to fix it.

Answer:

This is certainly a form of mould and it should be tracked down because it will only get worse. If the tub is not used a whole lot you might consider at least flushing the lines every few days.
