I live in a bungalow and my laundry room is on the main level just off from the kitchen. My floors are ceramic tile. I would like to ask you how I can cut down on the noise coming from my laundry room when I run the machines (particulary the washer). I have brand new machines but when I turn on the washer (and the spin cycle kicks in)the noise is incredible and the house is rocking (particulary the kitchen cupboards). The machines appear to be balanced. Can I or should I place wood sheets under the machines ?
Answer:
Even with the 3/4" wood sheets under the appliances you may have to move them to another part of the house or to the basement.
