I am planning to put a stacked W/D unit upstairs in my two story, 120 yr old farmhouse. I will need some type of sound/vibration control. Also, The floor (original floorboards) is not level by about 1/2" over the 3'by 3' ft area in question Would you recommend a type of dense rubber mat on top of levelled 3/4" plywood?
Answer:
The first thing is to level out that floor and then hopefully (?) a sheet of 3/4" plywood under the unit will cut some of the noise. Don't be surprised if it does not.
