We live in a house for 23 yr. And every time it rains very hard we get water in the basement. I saw it coming through the floor in two spots and they line up with the sump pump. Is there a product I can point onto the floor to stop it?
Answer:
Your problem has to do with lack of a drainage medium under the concrete slab floor of your basement. About the best you're going to do here is to excavate all around the house and install much more drainage tile. I would want to see at least two runs of 6" big O and replace the segment that goes under the footing to the sump hole too. That, hopefully, will re-route water to the sump before it gets under the floor.
