I just wanted to check with you on whether or not I should expect to find insulation in a flue chase (furnace and fireplace) on a wood fireplace that separates a family room from a kitchen. The chase passes through the ceiling in the family room and is then attached to the outside wall and extends up the second floor exterior wall. My question then is, would the interior portion of the chase be framed, insulated vapour barrier and sheet rocked similar to an outside wall?
