I have ordered a Top Mount Fridge and an Icemaker. I plan to do the installation myself. I understand that 1/4 inch copper tubing should be used. I located an "installation kit, but was not impressed with the quality of the included valve. It was a "needle type", which used to be used for furnace humidifiers. I have installed the compression type 1/4 turn ball valve for my humidifier when the needle valve type gave up the ghost. The packaging with the new valve (1/4 turn valve) stated that it could be used for icemakers as well. I have direct access to the basement below where my new fridge will be installed, can you suggest a water filter?
Answer:
If the instruction manual talks about a water filter, go for it but if the instruction manual does not suggest one, check with the manufacturer as to which would be most compatible.
