Question:

I have a "self-cleaning-filterLESS" washing machine that has for the past two years started leaving very sticky sludgy rings around the top of the basin - around the height of where the maximum water level is. Since this is supposed to be a self cleaning washer, what could be causing these rings and how can I prevent them. It seems that after I clean the sludgy ring off, it builds up again in a few weeks.

Answer:

It has to be either your detergent or some form of lubricant that is leaking inside.
