Can't find manufacturer web site will send snail mail. Contacted inst. cont. this am again and he claims this type of venting is no longer in use as it is very expensive to replace and 5 out of 7 are being replaced by chimneys because they are nothing but problems. Says if he replaces I may be responsible for cost with no guarantee won't have to be done in another couple of years.
Answer:
I'm getting the feeling somebody is trying to intimidate you. If the product was the original cause of the problem, why would you be held responsible for the cost of repairs? If a rectification is available, why is it not warranteed like the other components? If the part has been on backorder, why is there a replacement on the market now? Does this product not have a 'CSA Approved' (Canada Standards Association) sticker and if that's the case, why are only 5 of 7 being replaced? There are more questions but I'm sure you'll know how to ask them and more importantly, of whom?
