I have a well about 13 to 16 ft deep it is a sand well. I want to put more pressure in the system for the house. How do I go about setting up and maintain a pressure tank for the house. I have been told that I have to put air pressure on the top of the well forcing the water.
Answer:
The best, and most dependable way is to put in a pressure system that has a hose leading from below the high water level in the well to a pump and pressure tank. You can now get pressure tanks with flexible bladders in them to avoid having to deal with a solid tank that gets water-logged on a regular basis. At 16 feet of depth, your problems may not stop at pressure but go right on to a health hazard via surface water contamination.
