I live in Manotick (ON) and recently bought a 30 year old home. We are on well water with a pressure tank which is about the same size as a water heater. Over the past 3 months or so we have noticed that we run out of water about once a week usually after doing a couple of loads of laundry. When we run out, the pump kicks in and it takes about 45 min before we get our water back and then all is well! The water pressure is fine, it just seems odd that we would run out of water that frequently. I don`t think it is a problem with the well itself, I am guessing that it may a be a problem with the pressure tank which was installed in 1993.
Answer:
You could be having problems with the pump itslef, the foot valve, the tank's regulator, and several other things that are associated with it. I'd get a pro in there to look at the whole thing - in the long run, that will probably save you a few dollars.
