I'm getting conflicting figures from sales people on the size of compressor I should have installed in my home. It's nearly 2,000 square feet, including the basement. Are there calculators available on the net? Also, I would like to know your opinion on using the new refrigerant system that costs about $1,000 more than the standard type of air conditioning.

The way you normally size an a/c unit is to provide one tone per 800 sq.ft. I do not know enough about the system you speak of to comment.
