We bought an 80 year old farm house with very little water pressure. My husband said there is probably very little pressure because the pipes are 1/2 inch. He said if he replaces the 1/2 inch pipes with 3/4 inch, it will increase. Do you think that will do it?
Answer:
That might work but first you should check to see if the pump regulator is set to turn on when pressure drops to 20 PSI and then off again when it builds up to 40 PSI. There should be a little card there with it telling you how to set it to 30 & 50 instead of 20 &40. If the settings are there and they at the higher two numbers, then you might want to do some cleaning up of the supply lines or perhaps even changing from 1/2" to something larger.
