Question:

Could you please tell me the most efficient way of operating an air conditioner? Should it be on steadily all day or "cranked up" at the end of the day when it has become quite hot in the house and unpleasant for sleeping. We've recently moved into a 7 year old, two- story house that has AC. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Love your show on CFRA!

Answer:

Like any other heating/cooling applienace, once set to a given temperature, your most efficient operation will take place if you leave it alone for at least four hours.
