I replaced my old range hood with a new one that moves air at a rate of 250 CFM. The problem is it doesn't work as good as the old range hood. What size of vent should I be using for the new one? I am currently using a 10 by 3-1/4 inch transition tube with a 4 inch opening(which is what I was told when I bought it). However, after making a few phone calls, people are suggesting a 6 or 7 inch tubing.
Answer:
Either the old one had a different type of fan (squirrel cage perhaps) of your current one is not doing its thing because 250 CFM should almost be lifting the pot lids.
