Question:

The exterior flap of the bathroom vent freezes shut in the winter. There is a distance of 3 1/2 between to fan and the outside vent opening. How do I stop the flap from freezing shut?

Answer:

Insulate the duct leading from the fan housing to the flap and that should help.
