What is your opinion on non-condensing dehumidification units or other switch units? We are told by wood burning and fireplace sales people that switch units had to be removed from new homes because new homes are too air tight. Is it still good equipment to install in a 45 year old home?
Answer:
A non-condensing dehumidification system to the best of my knowledge, has not had to be removed because of construction tightness. It takes air off the basement floor only and pumps it outside.
