Question:

I recently purchased a home and want to put in a heat recovery ventilator. I am stuck between hiring a contractor at a cost of about $3000.00 or purchasing one and instaling it myself at about half the cost.I consider myself to be an average home repair guy. Can you make any suggestion's on things to be concerned about in installing one.

Answer:

The ownership manual is about all you need and if there happens to be a problem, bring up the manufacturer's site on the www where you should be able to find all the technical information you need. You might even check that out before you buy to make sure such help is available.
