Question:

Moved into house with air exchanger. Never had one before. Even after reviewing paperwork, not sure what best settings are (esp for winter). I believe it is somewhere between 30 and 50 but we are still experiencing some dryness and static. There are also "low" and "high" settings. When should these be used?

Answer:

Set it to 40 and leave it there. If you find discomfort, you can make an adjustment at that time.
