Question:

We are considering replacing our electric stove with a gas one.Could you tell me if there are any negatives to using a gas stove. My mother claims the gas heat or fumes will discolor the walls and ceiling in the kitchen.

Answer:

I haven't heard of any such problems. Actually, my wife now regrets not having changed to natural gas when we rebuilt our place some seven years ago. I can understand someone not having become used to gas and being reluctant to go with it but so far, anyone we've talked to that was willing to make the transition, would not go back.
