I live in Michigan and my roof faces North, therefore doesn't see much sunlight. My roof is starting to get green fugus or mossy looking growths on the shingles. Should I try brushing this off, and is there any solution that I could use while I am brushing it away?

Your local building meterials shop will have a variety of products that will clean if off. You may have to apply this every couple of years but it does help the longevity of the shinngles.
