I am a single Mom (40 something) and now live in a non-profit housing (townhouse) which is geared to income. It's OK but it is not mine, so we have decided to try to buy a house. We looked at a double wide modular home or trailer on solid cement slab in a trailer park near Barrie, Ontario. All three of us will be buying this together. A few things need repair and this is where you come in. The roof needs replacing. The estimate is around $1,800.00. We would like to do it ourselves. We need to know what we need to remove, what to replace it with, how to figure exactly how much material we need, how it is applied properly and a little info on ridge vents that you are always talking about. The roof seems to have about a 2' pitch from the main part of the house to the peak of the roof. It isn't very high existing vents alone or should we replace them with something else?

One of your local roofing supply companies can best supply you with brochures on all this and its free. To cover such a vast field on e-mail would take several pages.
