I listen to your show often and really enjoy it. Keep up the good work. Recently, my wife and I had the roof of our home re-shingled. Generally speaking, we are satisfied with the quality of the work, however have noticed that not all the shingles lay perfectly flat against the shingle below it. While they all seem to overlap alright, some of the shingles have a gap of 1/8" or more. This is especially noticable where the shingles were laid on a peak of the roof where they had to be "bent" to form. Question. Is a gap between shingles normal? If so, what is an accepatable gap? We have not made payment yet and are having the contractor come to our home in the next few days to ask him about this. We would like your advice on this matter.
Answer:
The gap you'r talking about is a simple matter of time for the sun to get to the shingles and they'll configure to the base they're on. This is quite normal indeed.
