My roof is 15 years old and is starting to show signs of age i.e. some shingles curling up, no leaks though. I have a bubble skylight and most of the roofers recommend that I remove it and replace it with a better one. My house is approx. 2300 sq. feet. All of the quotes are about the same between $8,100 to $8,500. I was expecting to pay $5000 to $6,000 including the skylight replacement. Am I out of line or I am getting the most expensive roofers to quote.

I'm not about to get into recommending names of roofers but if you have three quotes and they're within 10% of each other, you have a pretty good idea of the real world.
