Question:

I just recently bought my first home through a first time homebuyers program. The previous owner had a rubber roof installed with grit coating last year. I found out there was no Ice & water shield put on. I went through inspection and there was water coming down the bedroom and living room walls. They assured me that the problem was fixed and even gave me a 10-year warranty on roof workmenship and defects. And stated that they fixed it. Found out they ddi not. Same thing happened. Water streaming down the walls same place. They only threw more coating up by a gutter box, they did not fix the flashing nor did they put an ice and water shield on. What can I do to prevent this problem from ruining my walls and coming into the house. The rofer keeps yelling at me and telling me they only gave the warranty because the borough told them to. What can I do?

Answer:

Yell back at him but this time use words that your lawyer uses. In fact you might want to have a lawyer's letter delivered to him by way of receipted mail.
