Question:

we finished our basement approx 3 years ago. 2x2 strapping and white foamboard insulation, vapor barrier, drywall and whats happening to us is that you can see the outline of the studs and screws bleeding thru.we repainted a year ago and we have the same problem again.is there a certain paint that we could use to stop this from happening?

Answer:

You can paint it with a good stain deadener but because you have very little insulation on the walls, and it is by no means continuous, you have a vapour barrier problem and that is not going to be kind to you.
