I had been using a long, center runner on my teak table which has resulted in colour differences between the exposed wood and the wood that was covered by the runner. How can I even out the tone? Can teak wood be stained?

It already has been stained - by the sun. It would be a shame to lose its natural colour but if you left it in the sun for a few weeks or even months, the colour would even out.
