Question:

I would like to drywall the walls of my garage in order to make the area brighter and provide an ability to organize storage more efficiently. Do I need to put in insulation and vapour barrier? I am not keen on insulating the entire garage.

Answer:

There have been houses standing for a hundred years and more with no insulation in the walls so I don't see the harm it would do. If you're still concerned, strap the studs horizontally with 1X3 and the apply 1/8" peg board to them. This gives you all kinds of organized storage and if you paint it, you get all the brightness you might want.
