Question:

I'm building a 4' high fence. Posts will be cedar 4x4 and beams will be cedar 2x4. I will use cedar boards if budget allows. If not I'm leaning towards a very easy plastic "chain link" product. I know I will set the corner and gate posts 4' deep in concrete. Can I get away with 3' steel spike post holders for the rest of it? It would save both time and money.
The dimensions are about 42' down one side, 24' across back and 72' up other side.

Answer:

I do not comment on brand names so you'll have to do a bit more reasearch there but if you have at least a foot of snow in the yard all winter, 3' of depth should be OK. If you don't have that to insulate the ground, at 3' down, they'll have.
