Question:

Partition wall in basement non-load bearing, I would like to place it exactly in line with my steel I-beam. Do you suggest friction fit or how can I secure it?

Answer:

I'm not anxious to friction fit anything immediately next to that beam so I think I'd measure very precisely and attach to the joist bottoms with drywall screws.
