Question:

Our main floor laundry room behind the garage has forced me to put in a 20 foot run of dryer piping. I think this may be too long. What do you think and what can I do if it is?

Answer:

It is far too long and unless you can re-route the dryer duct, you're best bet is to put in a booster fan somewhere along that twenty-foot run - which by the way, should be rigid duct with all joints and seams taped. If you're taking longer than a half hour to dry a full load and everything else is working fine, you know its too long.
