Question:

I purchased an older log home. Looks like the walls are the same logs inside and out fit together with tongue and groove. I want to put up drywall on the majority of the walls, but am not sure if I need something between the log walls and the drywall, or can I mount the drywall directly to the walls?

Answer:

Although wood is about the only insulator that gains R value as it gets colder, I think I would still want to apply strapping, insulation and vapour barrier before doing the drywall number on it.
