I have a large amount of Tamarack logs that have been air drying for a year and I would like to saw them into lumber for flooring(1x6) and sills(6x6)for cottage construction. Does this wood have the appropiate properities for my intended purpose?
Answer:
Tamarack (English larch) has more properties suitable for construction than most of the material we use I think. If your local building authority will accept it, I'd go ahead and use it. If they do not accept it, perhaps its time for a bit more education on their part.
