Question:

I am planing to build a small "verticle log" cabin. I will put a spline (plywood) between each standing log. What type of caulking would you recommend I put along the plywood spline before the logs are pushed together?

Answer:

A good caulking compound which remains plastic for a long time would be best because you're dealing with different kinds of wood that will expand and contract at differing rates as they re-act to changes in temperature and humidity content.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.

Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
