Someone gave me a fireplace insert.I do not have a fireplace and I would like to install this one. I have no Idea how to install it. How can I information on what to do and what materials to use.
Answer:
There has to be a manufacturer's name on it so all you do is find that company on the www and you're all set to go. As an aside, if you're going to put in a fireplace at all, you might consider putting it on a raised hearth that has a 'corbled' base as it adds a lot to a very dominating feature of whatever room it happens to be in. You can raise it three bricks high and cantilever the second (from bottom) row of bricks almost half over the first and the top row almost half over the second - that's corbling.
