We are currently building a second home approx 3 hours away from our current one The builder has made several purchases of construction lumber (2x4's 2x6's ect.) and it seems to me that far too much has been purchased to do the framing. Is there a place where I can find a way to calculate how much framing lumber is actually required to build to code
Answer:
Building to code will not give you much of a house as the code dictates such a minimum standard. Any competing lumber outlet should be able to take the plans and give you exactly what you need. Your local home builders' association should be able to help too.
