Question:

The flooring underneath the battleship linoleum is fir planking and we were hoping to refinish it by sanding and putting on a urethane coating. Still think I should be scraping?

Answer:

You hadn't mentioned that in the past. By all means have it sanded. Unless you have experience with the large sanding machine, do not try to sand it yourselves.
