I have an old carpetners square and on the short arm are the numbers (hand stamped) 2545-2970-3395-3819-4243 etc, etc. What were these numbers used for? Also, at every inch mark there are numbers stamped 18,21,24,27,30,33 etc, advancing by three's.
Answer:
Believe it or not, the information on a carpenter's square, if you were to know each and every formula, would qualify you to build high rise buildings. Somewhere on the www there has to be a hand tool manufacturer that publishes a book (yes, I mean a book and a substantial one at that) dealing with what you are looking for.
