Question:

I think I had an old address so here we go again in our bathroom - can I glue new aborite over the existing because removing the counter top would be very difficult and damage my wall tiles. If I cannot glue the new arborite over the existing can I remove the old arborite some how? Or would I be better to put a skin of K-3 or something like that over the existing aborite and then glue the new arborite to the existing?

Answer:

You job is easier than you think. With the help of a heatgun you can remove the old plastic laminate (arborite) and make the residue adhesive as smooth as possible. Now you can apply the new right over the old base. Don't forget to the edge banding too and do that first so the top overlaps rather than butts up to it.
