We have a walk out basement with a poured concrete slab, about 75' X 8'. In the last 14 years the slab has cracked, and in one area lifted. So we would like to do "something" about it. We have had the following suggestions: 1) Cover the area with pressure treated wood. 2) Lay paving bricks right on top old the concrete. Where it has lifted, break and remove the concrete, then lay the bricks. 3) Remove the concrete and start over. The yard is fenced and removing the concrete would require significat labour with a wheel barrow.
Answer:
Breaking up concrete and working with a wheel barrow can at times, be a good for of exercise. I'd take the whole thing out and replace with interlocking stone. That, of course, can entail more wheel barrow exercise.
