Question:

I plan to install a new bathroom fan. The current ducting seems wind through the walls a bit and then vents two stories up through the roof. I would like to change the ducting so that it simply vents out throuth the wall. Is this a good idea and if so, does it matter if there is a window about 10 inches below outside vent?

Answer:

You can put it through the wall but it has to be beside rather than above the window. Presently you are trying to move steam too far for it to operate effectively.
