recently i renovated the basement. In the laundry room there is also the furnace a high efficiency and therefore the chimney is not used. Can i have the clothes dryer exust to the chimney?...any danger from that?...the dryer is now exausting in extreme proximity to the gas meter since that was the ONLY spot available...its not touching it of course but the air will be exausting on the meter line.....Can you tell me if this is ok or its A NO_NO?...also do you know how much THEY CHARGEto move the meter 4 to 5 feet away?
Answer:
You'll have to talk to your fuel supplier about this but I'm almost certain that something is going to have to move. Venting the dryer via the chimney is certainly boing to be out of the question.
In the interests of retaining credibility that I worked several decades to establish and in fairness to all, I don’t comment on various (building, electrical, plumbing) codes, brand-specific products, recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
