I am in the process of finishing our basement. The foundation is poured concrete, and the home is ten years old. There is moisture appearing on the outside (between the vapour barrier & the concrete) on the west wall - south corner only - summer months only. I've pulled off the vapour barrier and cannot see a crack in the foundation. There is a black mildew or mould in this area that I assume is related. What remedies do you recommend? Is this a DIY project, or one for the experts?
Answer:
You're dong it right and once you put on the drywall, warm will take longer to meet cold and there'll be no more condensation.
