Would it be beneficial at all to pour a concrete base or put a gravel base in the crawl space under a cottage to cut down on dampness or whould we go with the plastic sheeting and insulation, or both. The cottage is in the Bruce Peninsula (ON).

If its only going to be used as a crawl space and not storage of any kind, I wouldn't waste time nor money on anythint more than a good vapour barrier.
