We are renovating our basement. It is now a bare concrete floor. Before we put down carpet does the floor need to be cleaned with some sort of acid wash, sealed and painted?
Answer:
No it does not but I would sealit with a good masonry sealer to keep down dust that will accumulate under the carpet.
