Question:

we are planning on putting carpet down on the basement floor.It is cocrete. The house is 2 years old.Can we use underpad? Is laminate flooring a wiser choice?

Answer:

Although it means giving up on the warranty, I would not use an underpad. As long as you install the flooring according to manufacturer's instructions, you should be able to use anything you want down there.
