I am finishing my basement and plan on running one inside wall under the mainbeam for about 30 feet. Can I attach the wall to the mainbeam and make in part of the wall?
Answer:
There's no reason why you could not. Attaching it will be a bit of a problem but if you glue short lengths of 2X4 to the bottom of the beam first, you should be able to just attach your top plate with screws.
