Under my flooring there is the original hardwood floors. We would like to take up the floor and refinish the hardwood in the kitchen and living room. I read different ideas for the finish from urethane for floors to a rub on like tungoil. The advantage that I read about tungoil is the quick fix if you get a ding. What is the best to protect the floor for many years without redoing it often. In our bedrooms we used urethane but the kitchen will see far more traffic.
Answer:
The best I've seen has to be the water borne urethane product but if you want an oil finish, there are new products on the market that will do it.
