I have a finish basement that's well ventilated and I would like to know if it's ok to store some oak hardwood flooring for a couple of months? I'm planning to hire a contractor to install it early next year but seeing it's presently on sale I'm thinking of purchasing it.

As long as the atmospheric humidity down there is the same as that in the room(s) where you plan to lay it, there should be no problem. I'd go to the trouble of checking this with a humidistat before making the investment though.
