I will be using cedar decking but other than cost could you give an opinion on 2x6 cedar vs. what they call 5/4x6 rounded cedar decking. (It seems to me the 5/4 is closer to 1 inch).

Answer:

Actually, for decking, I see no difference except that the latter normally has rounded edges and I don't know if you want that on your deck. It may cause problems with heels, cleaning, etc.
