I have removed ceramic tile floor and a wall in my house leaving 100 sq. ft of flooring to be changed to hardwood like the rest of the flooring in the room. My question is this. Since the wood flooring was started from the wall which I removed, the tongue was leading as it should be to accept the staple gun. I now will be installing backwards so to speak (the 100 sq.ft.) with the groove leading. Where would the staples go. Inside the groove maybe? I just don't know right way to do this backward installation.
Answer:
You might want to put up with a afew surface nail heads and counter sink them rather than trying to staple one side of the groove because you can count on it splitting off and that makes it quite useless as far as stability goes.
